BACKPACK BLESSING (BACK-TO-SCHOOL)
As kids head back to school in the fall, churches often gear up with new programming, resuming Wednesday night activities, offering tutoring or after-school care, and collecting school supplies and weekend meals for low-income children. But what about the spiritual needs of children and their families as they head back to school?
This BACKPACK BLESSING or other Back-to-School prayer in worship at the start of the school year can offer encouragement to the excited and comfort to the anxious.
CONFIRMATION
Students in 6th-8th grade participate in a 10-week exploration of their faith guided by the pastor, individual mentors, and parents.
Our emphasis is on helping kids learn to think about their own personal faith in Jesus Christ, rather than on rote memorization. After one-on-one discussions with the pastor, students may choose to confirm their faith and claim the vows made on their behalf in baptism. This usually happens in a special Sunday worship service early in June.
We also welcome older youth and adults who wish to explore their faith, learn about Christianity and Methodism, and renew their vows.

UNITED WOMEN IN Faith
UNITED WOMEN in Faith is open to all women of Groves Ministries. The group meets for fellowship, enjoys special programs, and participate in hands on missions, every other month meetings and district events.
